Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy Group

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy with Dr. Sidney Edsall

We’re excited to offer an online version of our Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course, led by our founder and lead practitioner, Dr. Sidney Edsall.

What is MBCT?

MBCT is a skills-building and meditation group informed by Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program. It is designed for individuals who have struggled or are currently struggling with depression and/or anxiety.

When is the next MBCT course at Quantum Integral Healing Arts?

The next course begins on April 11th, 2023 and will be held on Zoom, allowing for a more flexible and convenient way to participate. The 8-week course costs $590 and participants must be pre-screened by Dr. Edsall to ensure that MBCT is an appropriate treatment for their symptoms.

If these dates do not work for you, be aware that we may have more course options in the future! You can sign up to the Quantum Integral Healing Arts newsletter to be notified of any upcoming classes.

Who is the MBCT course at Quantum Integral Healing Arts for?

The course is perfect for people who:

  • Are introspective and thoughtful

  • Want to build deep and meaningful connections through community and shared group experience

  • Want to learn new ways of coping with ruminative thoughts and negative feelings

  • Are striving to be better people and sometimes feel like they’re falling short of their expectations

  • Have never meditated before or have an existing meditation practice

  • Are having trouble finding time or energy to meditate regularly and need support building the habit

  • Aren’t afraid of a challenge or are willing to face one (daily meditation during the course is 40 minutes)

  • Want to be more present, mindful, and aware of the richness of every moment

As the course is held online, there are a few additional guidelines and regulations that need to be adhered to for the safety and confidentiality of the group.

Participants are required to sign a consent form outlining these guidelines before participating in the course.

It’s important to note that because the group is held in a virtual online space, and the group participants and facilitators are not physically in the same location, it’s requested that all participants provide a local emergency contact person before starting the course. Participants who are not currently working with a clinician at Quantum Integral Healing Arts will also be required to have a local behavioral health provider available during the 8-week course.

We’re dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for our participants, and are committed to helping them enhance their coping skills. If you have any questions about the course, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at help@quantumintegralhealingarts.com. We’re here to support you on your journey to whole-being health and holistic healing.
